The Limar AIR PRO helmet boasts an extremely innovative production process in which carbon fiber - due to its high mechanical resistance and lightness properties - becomes the heart of the helmet. This improves the safety of the helmet without compromising weight.
CARBONCORETECH:
The 3K carbon coupled inside with EPS gives the core maximum resistance, and is the main feature of the Air Pro Mips. Two structural wings merge with the lateral ribs of the body, creating a highly performing cage.
Until now used as a finish, 3K carbon is now co-molded with EPS in 5 layers, no longer as a simple film (only one or two layers at most). It's the same process used to build bicycle frames. In this way it takes on exceptional mechanical resistance, allowing the use of the thinnest thicknesses. The carbon now becomes the soul of the helmet, acting with the expanded polystyrene to create a highly performing cage in terms of safety and allowing to optimize the ventilation on the riders' heads and the aerodynamics of the air flows around the helmet.
AERODYNAMICS:
The pyramidal surface of the longitudinal ribs reduces impact pressure as it cuts through the air and allows for smooth sliding. The very thin carbon wings allow for easy inflow and better air circulation. The extended tail prevents turbulence: CFD mathematical simulation data integrated with tests in the Wind Tunnel demonstrate an increase in aerodynamic efficiency of 20% compared to the LIMAR Ultralight+ model, also demonstrated by the numerous tests carried out in velodromes/wind tunnels ( testing in real life environmental conditions with Team Astana riders).
MIPS Air:
Mips Air is a brain protection system consisting of a low-friction layer that allows a sliding movement of 10-15 mm, in all directions, reducing the rotational movement of the brain during impact.
Limar has chosen the revolutionary and innovative Mips Air solution, much lighter and more ventilated than the common one.
This is achieved through the integration of the Mips Brain Protection System and LIMAR comfort padding, the result is greater comfort, fit and excellent airflow within the helmet.
