The Zone3 Swimskin has been developed due to a number of requests from Ironman athletes who are looking for that extra core support and reduced drag during non-wetsuit swims. Tyler Butterfield (4th in WTC World rankings in 2013) describes the suit as offering excellent drag reduction and compression allowing for a faster and more energy efficient swim.
The suit is designed to go over the top of your race uniform so offers good body coverage. The fit is designed for speed and all of the seams are glued and head bonded for comfort and to minimise drag. There is also zip on the back with cord attached to allow the suits to be removed easily.
It has taken two years to develop this garment and we’ve tested several of the highest performance fabrics before deciding on X2R, a revolutionary woven fabric for the front and back panels, and Energy-D for the legs. The X2R is one of the lightest and fastest fabrics available and extremely hydrophobic with only 5% water absorption rate. The fabric on the legs ensures superior compression and water channelling.
