The crankset is the heart of the new 1x Ekar system, with its gear options covering a wide range of uses. Of course, the single cog is simple to use: no derailleurs, significantly reduced weight, fewer moving parts that pick up dirt and can create kinks, and high chain safety, without unnecessary gear overlap - perfect solution for gravel rides .
The two cranks made of UD carbon fiber mount half-pins in AISI 630 steel, in line with the skilful combination of materials of the entire Ekar group, in order to obtain lightweight components, but with maximum efficiency and durability.
The new ProTech ™ technology joins the two half-pins inside the bottom bracket, with a single strong screw. The oversized stainless steel bearing sits on the crank arm, keyed to the semi-axle, for maximum smoothness and strength - and to be easily accessible for inspection and maintenance, without having to disassemble the cups.
There are four gear options: Adventure has 38 teeth; Pure Gravel is 40T, Fast Gravel is 42T and eGravel 44T. Their optimized design offers efficient transmission and maximum chain reliability.
The light and strong 7075 aluminum gears are easily interchangeable: you can simply unscrew them from the four crank arms without having to disassemble the crankset. The four arms, set asymmetrically for optimal load distribution, feature a 123mm bolt circle. Changing the gears is a simple and efficient way to change your relationship as you tackle different types of routes.
The Ekar crankset features four crank length options - 165, 170, 172.5 and 175mm - to suit cyclists and bikes of all types. For some gravel bikes with a low bottom bracket, shorter cranks are the most used to avoid getting stuck on rough and unpredictable surfaces.
A Q-factor of 145.5mm offers a comfortable and efficient pedaling style, whatever your size.
UD carbon arms feature removable protective end caps, to keep your components looking like new no matter what terrain you face.
