The Sonic Bracket offers a wide range of fit, low weight and easy adjustment along with minimal frontal area. Combining this with the Ergo armrest creates an aerobar that will help most riders optimize their position for both speed and comfort.
The 39A is one of the latest releases in our trusted range of aluminum extensions.
Performance
The Sonic/Ergo is designed to have minimal frontal area to create the least aerodynamic drag possible. The main purpose of an aero handlebar is, of course, to get the rider into a fast position despite a fairly minimalist appearance, Sonic/Ergo offers a full range of fits for exactly this purpose.
Fit data
The extensions 39a have a 39° inclination for the handle. The rider can choose whether to hold high for the shrug position or low for a more open, head-up position.
The extension length and rotation can be easily adjusted using the top bolt.
There are 100 distinct position options available simply by moving the armrests. Combine it with risers and this bar offers 1500 possible configurations. Being a clip bar it is also possible to easily adjust the width of the extension and the inclination. This is the most adjustable clip-on bar on the market (and in history).
Armrest offset: -70mm to -17.5mm in 7.5mm increments
Armrest width: 124mm to 290mm in 18.5mm increments (with extensions to 100mm)
Armrest stack: 60mm (without riser kit) to 130mm in 5mm increments (with aftermarket riser kit)
It's worth noting that our previous top-tier clip on aero handlebar, the J4/F35, offered 90 possible configurations. This highlights the significant step forward we've made with our next-generation aerodynamic handlebars in allowing riders to precisely adjust their position.
After releasing the Supersonic (J5) as a premium mount with market-leading fit options and versatility, we wanted to offer the same type of options to the rest of our mount range and therefore aero handlebars. By simplifying the extension clamp and moving the wing forward of the centerline of the bar, we were able to achieve our goals. As a result of the simplification, the Sonic is the lightest of our current stands.
The Ergo armrest shares the flip-up design of the rest of our next generation armrests. Swapping sides or rotating armrests results in smaller increments of motion, making it easier to fine-tune the rider's position or match the previous bike or handlebar position.
